During the year many local young people make contributions
to help the animals. Usually these donations are money that has been raised by
saving spare change, having lemonade or cookie sales, or having birthday parties
where kids request money for the animals instead of gifts for themselves.
Unfortunately, we don't get the names of everyone who leaves donations at the
shelter, but here are a few who have helped recently. Thank you to EVERYONE who
has brought donations to the shelter.
If you would like to arrange to have a photo of your donation
posted on this website, please email:
volunteers@mansfieldshelter.org
More suggestions for young people who would like to contribute
to the medical and food expenses of the shelter animals or to the new animal
shelter fund:
- Plan a Carwash
- Have a Bake Sale
- Organize Collection Cans or a Stand at School Sports Events
- Set up a Lemonade Stand
- Donate a Birthday Party
- Collect and Redeem Bottles
For a list of the food and supplies we need donated to the
shelter,
see the website menu: How You Can Help: Wish List. Thank You |

Pennies
for Peace
at Hands-On Montessori School
In the spirit of peace education, the HOMS community of children, families and
teachers has collected, sorted, rolled, counted and deposited over $1,960.00 in
loose change from January 2007 to the present. These efforts are part of an
on-going commitment to teach our students the importance of reaching out to
those less fortunate both locally and globally.
The Montessori School donated $540.00 for the new shelter building fund, in the
hope that it will help to move the project forward.
