Donations for the New Shelter Building Fund

The new Mansfield Animal Shelter is being built with generous donations from corporations and individuals, and with no tax dollars. To make your tax-deductible contribution, make your check out to  "MSF Building Fund" and mail to the address below, or click here for a donation form.

Volunteer Opportunities

Animal Care Volunteers
Can you spare two or three hours a week?  Volunteers work during the shelter's visiting hours. (See hours at bottom of page.) There are also volunteering opportunities on weekday mornings with the cats. Volunteers feed the cats and dogs, clean the cages and litter boxes, launder bedding, and walk the dogs.  We also try to make sure all the animals get love and attention while we're there. All volunteers must be at least 16 years old . . . no exceptions.

If you are interested in volunteering, please e-mail us at volunteers@mansfieldshelter.org. (The volunteer staff fluctuates during the year, and not all shifts need additional volunteers.)

Fundraising Volunteers
We need creative, energetic individuals to help with fundraising and special events. If you have interest and initiative for organizing or participating in fundraisers, please email msf@mansfieldshelter.org.

The Mansfield Animal Shelter is staffed by volunteers and funded by donations. We are grateful for every dollar you give.

Items we can use:

• Your tax-deductible donation is the most important way you can help the shelter animals.  Whether your donation is $5.00 or $500.00, please consider making a cash or check donation. Please see the top of this page for information on how to donate, and please specify which of the two funds you are donating to. Thank you.

• Cat and Dog Food: Unopened bags of Iams dry food.  We try to feed the animals only one brand of food so they don't get upset stomachs.

• Sturdy paper towels

• Bleach

• Non-Toxic spray cleaner (Sun & Earth)

• Trash bags: Heavy Duty Green Bags, Tall Kitchen Bags, and 55 Gal. Drum Liners

• Laundry detergent: ONLY "he" (high efficiency) for front-loading heavy duty machines, bleach

• Kitty litter: NON clumping only, please.

• Hand Sanitizer

• Benjamin Moore Paint (gallon cans) for the interior of the new shelter:

  • Benjamin Moore Fresh Start All Purpose 100% Acrylic Primer, tinted Linen White (need 20 gallons)

  • Benjamin Moore Eggshell, latex, Linen White #912 (need 10 gallons)

  • Benjamin Moore semi-gloss, latex, Linen White #912 (need 10 gallons)

• Special people who will adopt our residents into their homes

and more towels and blankets than we have room to store.
