Adopting a Kitten Kittens require extra veterinary care. They will have received
their 8 week distemper shots by the time they are ready for adoption, but new
owners will be responsible for taking kittens to a vet for 12 and 16 week
distemper shots, rabies vaccination, and spay/neuter surgery. In addition to the
$100 deposit fee to adopt a pet, the shelter is required by law to take a $30
spay/neuter deposit fee. When the owner has his kitten spayed or neutered, he
may send a copy of the paperwork to the shelter and request a refund of the $30
deposit, or leave it as a donation. |
