"You can't change the world by adopting one animal,
but you can ch
ange the whole world for that one animal."

Dog trainer Jane Young offers one hour of free, introductory training to anyone who adopts a dog from the Mansfield Animal Shelter. Click on her link for info.

Brutus

Brutus is a very energetic young dog, not yet a year old, who came to the shelter with no training. He is still learning how to greet people properly and walk on a lead like a gentleman. We are currently helping Brutus with his manners by employing a dog trainer to teach both Brutus and the volunteers who work with him. Brutus has come a long way in his stay with us; he's better on a lead and knows "sit" very well. It will be essential that Brutus goes to a home with an experienced dog owner who is committed to continuing the schooling and work the shelter has begun with him.

Because of his energy and size, Brutus would do best in a home without young children. He needs an active owner who is willing to provide the time for lots of exercise so that Brutus can then settle down to concentrate on what is asked of him, and the patience and commitment to work through Brutus’ transition to a new home and routine.

Brutus may be able to get along with another dog, but he seems selective about his buddies. We would not recommend a home with cats.

C.J.

C.J. is a female Dalmatian/lab mix who was surrendered because of her owner's ill health. She is a sweet and smart girl who knows how to sit, stay, give her paw, and who is trained to an electric fence. C. J. would be happiest as the only dog in the home. She will be a great pet for someone.

Sheba

Sheba is a mature, sweet, female German Shepherd who was surrendered because her owner is not well enough to take care of her. She has lived all her life in one home, and is confused and a little timid at the shelter. Parting for both dog and owner was heart rending.

Sheba is in foster care; she is not at the shelter. If you would like to meet her or learn more about her, email: adoptions@mansfieldshelter.org.
