Ron

Ron originally came to the shelter three years ago as a surrender, and was fostered for two months by one of our volunteers. He was adopted, but his owner passed away, so Ron is back at the shelter and looking for a new home again. He is an approximately 11 year old Schnauzer mix, who is neutered and up to date with vaccines. He is house broken and will let you know he needs to go out by either staring at you or barking. He does bark when he is excited and when people first come to the house, but he will eventually chill. Ron is a friendly dog who likes to be petted and loves walks and rides in a car. Ron is sweet and easy going, but he doesn’t like to be touched around his face, and if he feels overwhelmed, he may growl. He does not like fast cars and will chase, so quiet areas are best for walks. Ron seems to be okay with other dogs and cats as he has been in the foster Mom’s home with both, however he does not do well with over excited dogs. He has been around older kids but probably will not do well with younger kids due to the over excitement. His foster Mom said he just wants to be loved and will love you in return (when he sits and looks at you, you will know). Visit Ron during shelter hours, or email adopt@mansfieldshelter.org to request an application.

Rolo and Lakota

We feel it is time to reintroduce two of our beloved shelter dogs: Rolo and Lakota!  You may have seen our earlier post, but these boys have come a long way in the 8 months since they were  found wandering in the Cabot Industrial Park in Mansfield.  We now believe they were likely dumped by someone who couldn't see the diamonds in the rough.  Rolo (Husky/Shepard mix) and Lakota (Shepard) are still somewhat timid around new people, but they have let their fun-loving, goofy, co-dependent selves shine for shelter volunteers to see.  They enjoy wrestling and chasing each other around the yard, playing with toys, chewing on ice, and generally acting like most young dogs act.  Since we have gotten to know them better, we believe Rolo is closer to Lakota’s age and guess they both may be around 2 years old.  They MUST be adopted together because like peanut butter and jelly, they just wouldn’t be the same if apart.  Also needed would be a fenced in yard and some patience!  Come and meet our entertaining duo of doggy fun!!
